Counting Down To The Launch Of Frankie’s Legacy As A Charity

25929_10153973048110106_1736881366_nI cannot believe how much Frankie’s Legacy as a charity is taking off.

The reason I haven’t written so much for this blog in recent weeks, apart from to keep it updated with what’s going on with the launch event next week, is that the local and regional press here have picked up on Frankie’s Legacy and the launch and around my work at BT I’ve been giving press interviews, attending photoshoots and sorting out the launch event.  I’m absolutely delighted that Robin Walker MP will be in attendance at the launch this Thursday evening, and that The Right Worshipful The Mayor Of Worcester, Cllr Pat Agar, will be officially opening Frankie’s Legacy as a charity.

My husband and I would like to extend our huge thanks to:

The Worcester News
The Worcester Observer
All About Worcester Magazine
Elliott Webb on BBC Hereford and Worcester
BBC WM

for covering our launch and for all their support.

We are also excited to say that, subject to no huge breaking news items on the day, that BBC Midlands Today is going to be featuring us at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital talking about the fundraising we are doing for them as a charity.  The item will go out on the lunchtime, early evening and hopefully late evening bulletins.

You can see copies of the press coverage we’ve had for Frankie’s Legacy by visiting the media centre page on www.frankieslegacy.org.uk.
So on top of preparing for the launch my husband and I have had meetings at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital to find out what their requirements are for improving the delivery suite facilities with the money that we raise.  We have price lists for chairs, fold-out beds and Google Chromebooks and have worked with Rachel Carter, Matron For Midwifery Inpatients and Trudy Berlet, the Bereavement Specialist Midwife to decide what vouchers to put in the voucher and information packs that all parents to be get when they go through the delivery suite at the hospital.  We’ll be debuting details of these at our launch event.

My friend Liz has been writing to small and medium sized businesses asking for donation and raffle prizes, and I’m blown away at the support we’ve had for this.  I’m truly humbled and can’t thank everyone enough.

I’ll be writing a bit more today, but after this I may not be able to write again until after the launch event next Thursday night.  We have a huge amount of work to do before the launch, and all my time will need to go on that.

I miss my Frankie more than words will ever say, but I hope that he will be proud of me and his Daddy when we launch our charity in his memory this Thursday evening.
